rainsmom on "How to make a small page container"

I am working with Blocomo, a child theme of Twenty Twelve. I have created a static front page, and now I want to change the entire look of that page. I want to have a small page container located to the right of the screen that will have a small logo, a menu, a content container with an except from a single post, and a minimal footer. The background image on the page will be the focus, and to get to real content, the user will need to click through.

Can someone help me change the size and justification of the site container on the page? I want it basically the width of my current menu, and I want it right-justified, rather than centered. I know to use .template-front-page to make changes only to the static front page.
