When posting images to my wordpress blog I use quite large, high quality images. (1750px wide). This is so when the smaller in-post image is clicked, the user sees the full size image.

When a page is freshly loaded, I assume the full size images are loaded? I'm sure I've seen in the past, some sites using clever coding to generate the correct size images that a page needs to display, on-the-fly? Therefore saving loading time, memory etc>

Is there a plugin or a setting for this?
